PURPOSE
Gas meters СГ-16MT, СГ-75МТ are designed for volume measuring of smoothly changing flows of purified non-corrosive mono- and multi-component gases (natural gas, air, nitrogen, argon and others with viscosity of 0.67 kg/m3 minimum under the normal conditions) when used at industrial enterprises and municipal services and for registering during commercial operations.
The meter can be mounted in a pipe-line both horizontally and vertically when the gas flow is directed upwards or downwards. Before the meter it is necessary to install a filter having purification efficiency not worse than 0.08mm.
The СГ-16MT, СГ-75МТ gas meters are provided with a low frequency output (reed contact) which allows its connection to the spark-protected circuit of the electronic corrector.
Number of pulses of the low frequency output ("НЧ") corresponding to 1m3 of gas passing through the gas meter is following:
- 10 pulses/m3 - for СГ-16МТ-100 – СГ16МТ-650
- for СГ-75МТ-160 – СГ75МТ-650
- 1 pulse/m3 - for other gas meters.
When mounting the gas meters it is recommended to use flanges of steel 09Г2С-Cв-4 according to state standard ГОСТ19281-89 for СГ-16MT according to ГОСТ 12820-80, for СГ-75MT-1 according to ГОСТ 12821-80; gaskets of rubberized asbestos fabric ПМБ ГОСТ 481-80 to seal the flange connections of СГ-16MT, gaskets of aluminium according to ГОСТ 21631-76 for СГ-75MT-1; pins of the 35Х steel according to technical requirements of ГОСТ 10494-80; nuts of the 35Х steel ГОСТ 10495-80.
The gas meter production is ensured by authority for use № PPC 00-16476; industrial security expert report № 1091-2005; license for manufacture and repair of metering devices № 000181-ИР; certificate of the type approval RU.C.29.006.A №21547.
WARNING Do not use the meters for oxygen.

DESIGNATION FOR REQUISITIONING
When ordering it is necessary to specify the type of device, gas volume flow rate and pressure maximum values, the temperature range lower limit, material of which the device is made, the flow rate measurement range (1:20 by digit 2; 1:10 is not indicated).

The design employs highly durable polymer materials and lubricants with stable behaviour within the temperature range from minus 40 to plus 70ºC.
Length limitation of the straight portions in the places of meter mounting is in certain cases a determining factor when selecting a meter.
In the СГ16MT-P meter an original design of the gas flow inlet stabilizer is used. It provided high metrological stability when the minimum length of straight portions before and behind the meter is equal to 2 internal diameters (Ду) and 1 internal diameter (Ду).
The meter withstands prolonged flow rate overload of not more than 110% Qmax uninterruptedly during 30 days in a year and short-term overload of not more than 160 % Qmax for an hour (totally) during 24 hours.
When the pressure rises, the minimum flow rate Qmin p (m3/h) is calculated by the equation:
Qmin p = Qmin/d·(Pб+Ри)·10-5,
where Qmin - minimum flow rate value at the measured gas excessive pressure of 5000 Pa, m3/h;
d=rgas/rair – relative gas density (for natural gas d»

The equation has practical application for excessive pressure higher than 0.2 MPa (2 kgf/cm2).
