Characteristics

Purpose

Turbine gas meters СГТ16Э are designed to measure the volume of non-corrosive heterogeneous in chemical composition natural gas as per GOST Standard 5542-87, air, nitrogen and other non-corrosive gases with density of 0.67 kg/m3 min., and to measure the temperature and pressure for the measured volume conversion according to the requirements of GOST Standard 2939-63.

Range of application

Technological and custody transfer volume measuring of smoothly changing flows of gas in installations of industrial and municipal enterprises, in pressure pipelines of gas distribution points and stations (ГРП, ГРС), heat-and-power plants and other technological objects.

The meter can be installed in explosive areas of the В-1б class according to the “Regulations on Electric Installation Construction” (Chapter 7.3 of ПУЭ regulations), where, in case of accidents or failures, formation of explosive mixtures of gases and vapors with air referred to category IIА of group Т4 as per GOST Standard Р 51330.0 is possible.

The meter climatic version is УХЛ.3* as per GOST Standard 15150 at an ambient temperature ranging from minus 40 to plus 60°С; air relative humidity is up to 95 % at a temperature of plus 25 °С and at lower temperatures without moisture condensation.

The meter calibration interval is 4 years.

The meter service life is 12 years.

Basic Parameters and Characteristics

The meter functions and provides the specified parameters within the flow rate ranges according to Table 1 at the measured gas excessive pressure from 2200 Pa to 1.2 MPa (from 0.0220 kgf/cm2 to 12 kgf/cm2).

The volume measurement tolerated relative error limits (before correction) is ±1.0%.
Pressure loss in the meter at the maximum flow rate is 1800 Pa (180 mm H2O) max.
The measured gas temperature range is from minus 23 to plus 67 °С.
The temperature measurement tolerated absolute error limits are ±0.5 °С.

The absolute pressure measurement range and absolute pressure measurement error are provided by the СДВ pressure transducer included in the meter. Number of ranges and the pressure upper measurement limits in each range are given in Table 2.

Switching from one pressure measurement subrange to another one (when the pressure changes in the pipeline) is automatic.
The absolute pressure measurement tolerated reduced error limits within each range are equal to ±0.25 %.
The tolerated relative error limits of volume measurement converted according to the requirements of GOST Standard 2939 are ±1.5 %.
The tolerated relative error limits of measurement of current time and running hours are ±0.1 %.
The meter is supplied from the internal lithium DC supply source with the 3.6V rated voltage. Connection of an external DC power source (power unit БПЭК-02) with voltage (8.5±0.5) V is possible.
Power consumed by the meter from the external supply source is 0.9 VA max.

The meter is designed for discontinuous operation.
The meter is pressure-tight at the measured gas excessive pressure up to 1.6 MPa (16 kgf/ cm2).
The meter withstands endurance tests at the excessive pressure of 2.4 MPa (24 kgf/ cm2).
The maximum pressure which the СДВ withstands is specified in its certificate.
The meter mass is from 5 to 47 kg.
Current consumed by the meter from the internal lithium cell is not more than 35 microampere in the standby mode and not more than 35 mA in the display mode.
Switching from the standby mode to the display mode occurs once in 30 s for a period of 4-5 s.

In addition to the above functions the meter also provides:

  • measurement and indication of running hours immediately after the first start;
  • indication of current time and date;
  • creation of the clock-hour and daily archives with the possibility of their output to the external devices via channel RS232/RS485;
  • storage of measured and calculated results in the nonvolatile archive with the possibility of data output from the archive to the digital display and external devices via channel RS232/RS485.
The СГТ16Э-100-К meter complete set includes input and output adapters, making additional straight sections upstream and downstream the meter unnecessary.
For other meters, the straight section length should be 2 DN upstream and 1 DN downstream the meter.

In 2012 turbine gas meter СГТ16Э became the winner of All-Russian competition “100 Best Goods of Russia”.
